Voluntary reports from SVOD providers about their Australian content
Subscription video on demand services
There are rules about Australian content that subscription video on demand (SVOD) services must follow.
On 27 November 2025, Australia introduced laws to set up an Australian content requirement on major SVOD services with at least 1 million Australian subscribers. The laws also introduce obligations on SVOD services with over 250,000 Australian subscribers.
The ACMA is responsible for overseeing compliance with the Australian content requirements and will provide updates throughout 2026 on how SVOD services can prepare to report to us and meet their obligations.
We have published 2 forms related to the Australian content requirement.
- SV01 must be lodged by providers of SVOD services which have at least 250,000 paying subscribers in Australia (and meet other lodgement criteria)
- SV02 must be lodged by providers of SVOD services whose circumstances have recently changed
