Remaking the Radiocommunications (Radio-controlled Models) Class Licence 2015

We have made the Radiocommunications (Radio-controlled Models) Class Licence 2025. We did not receive any submissions to the consultation.

The class licence will commence on 1 October 2025. This corresponds with:

• the sunset date of the RCM Class Licence 2015
• planned changes to the Radiocommunications Equipment (General) Rules 2021 from several instruments due to sunset on 1 October 2025.

The Radiocommunications (Radio-controlled Models) Class Licence 2015 (the RCM Class Licence) authorises the use of radiocommunications devices to control model aircraft, model landcraft and model watercraft under set conditions. It is due to sunset on 1 October 2025.

We believe the RCM Class Licence forms a useful part of our regulatory framework so we propose to remake it with minor changes.
