Review of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) regulatory arrangements

We want to ensure our EMC arrangements remain effective for the current electromagnetic environment and future developments. We also seek your feedback on areas for regulatory improvement we have identified in the consultation paper.

Your feedback will help inform our approach when we undertake further consultation next year. We will make specific proposals to update the regulation by:

• repealing the Radiocommunications (Electromagnetic Compatibility) Standard 2017 and Radiocommunications Labelling (Electromagnetic Compatibility) Notice 2017
• including the relevant EMC regulatory obligations in the Radiocommunications Equipment (General) Rules 2021. 

We invite your comments on the issues set out in the consultation paper. Please send your submission by 5pm (AEDT), Wednesday 20 December 2023.
