The issue

The ACMA is implementing the national self-exclusion register.

The Australian Government’s policy is that the costs for implementing the register are to be recovered from the interactive wagering industry. We have been provided with the statutory authority to cost recover these costs under the National Self-exclusion Register (Cost Recovery Levy) Act 2019.

We are consulting on the proposed cost recovery arrangements for the register.

The draft Cost Recovery Implementation Statement (CRIS) provides information on how we will implement cost recovery for the register.

Drawing on the CRIS, the draft National Self-exclusion Register (Cost Recovery Levy) Determination 2022 details how the cost recovery levy will be calculated.
