Spending and targets: 2024 to 2025
In aggregate, the subscription TV industry spent $19.09 million on Australian drama programs in the 2024 to 2025 financial year.
Spending on eligible shows included:
- Dramas – How to make Gravy, The Last Anniversary, Strife (Series 2), Mix Tape, The Twelve (Series 3), Return to Paradise.
- Feature films – Combat Wombat: Back 2 Back, You’ll Never Find Me, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, The Sloth Lane.
These tables provide total industry results aggregated across licensees and channel providers.

All licensees met their minimum spending requirements in 2024–25. Participants also met their spending target for 2024–25 leaving no expenditure shortfall required to be made up in 2025–26.

Drama channels: Aussie Classics, BBC First, BBC UKTV, Boomerang, Box Sets, British, British Cinema, Cartoon Network, CBeebies, Fox Classics, Fox Comedy, Fox Crime, Fox One, Fox Showcase, Universal TV, DreamWorks, and the Foxtel Movies service* (comprising the channels Premiere, Hits, Family, Action, Comedy, Romance, Drama, Greats and Lifetime Movie Network).
Subscription TV licensees: Foxtel and Telstra.
Channel providers: BBC Worldwide Australia, Foxtel Management and NBC Universal International Networks Australia.
* Foxtel Movies comprises 9 movie channels but Foxtel reports this as a single drama service.
