The applicant sought access to representations made by external organisations concerning online safety; misinformation or disinformation; online hate or vilification; extremist content; social media content moderation; digital platform governance; digital platform accountability; complaints concerning online content or accounts; reporting or escalation arrangements; or communications involving Meta, Facebook, Instagram, X, Google, YouTube, TikTok, Telegram or another digital platform providers. This was limited to final written recommendations or referrals received between 1 January 2023 and 6 August 2026 that the ACMA accepted, actioned, forwarded to a digital platform or Commonwealth body, or formally declined, together with any final record of the resulting action or outcome.
Five documents were identified as within the scope of the request. These documents were released in part, with material redacted under section 22 of the FOI Act on the basis that it was outside the scope of the request.
