The applicant sought access to all internal and external correspondence held by the ACMA in relation to the broadcasting of 8xBet logos during Australian broadcasts of sporting matches, between 1 January 2024 and 24 August 2025.
53 documents were identified as being within the scope of the request. 26 documents were released in part, subject to the redaction of information that was irrelevant or out of the scope of the request, and information that was exempt under sections 45, 47, 47C and/or 47G of the FOI Act. The redactions were made in accordance with section 22 of the FOI Act.
2 documents are yet to be released to the applicant as the ACMA’s decision on release does not fully accord with the views of a third party. The documents will be partially released, subject to the exercise or expiration of the third party’s rights of review.
