The issue
To reflect changes in demand, we update ALT annually using our population-based methodology. This is based on the Australian Bureau of Statistics dataset ‘Population estimates by significant urban areas’.
The proposed adjustments would be incorporated into the Radiocommunications (Transmitter Licence Tax) Determination 2025 and Radiocommunications (Receiver Licence Tax) Determination 2025.
The updates would take effect from 5 April 2027.
