Key documents

The issue

We are considering enabling the use of Automatic Frequency Coordination (AFC) systems for authorising standard power Wi-Fi in the 6 GHz band and, if enabled, how it could be implemented.

We are seeking views on a range of matters, including:

  • the respective roles of government and industry
  • potential licensing and authorisation frameworks
  • system, technical and operational considerations
  • benefits and risks to users and incumbents
  • planning matters, such as geographic and frequency arrangements.
