Outcome
Radiocommunications
We received 4 public submissions to this consultation. You can access these at the bottom of this page. There was no opposition to the proposed band plan amendments.
After considering the submissions, we decided to proceed with making the Radiocommunications (Low Interference Potential Devices) Frequency Band Plans Amendment Instrument (No. 1) 2025. This will commence on 1 October 2025.
Previous consultation: The issue
The Radiocommunications (Low Interference Potential Devices) Class Licence 2015 is due to sunset on 1 October 2025. We have proposed to remake the class licence.
We must not issue a class licence that is inconsistent with any relevant frequency band plan.
We intend to make changes to the following frequency band plans to ensure they are consistent with the new low interference potential devices class licence, if made:
- Radiocommunications (Mobile-Satellite Service) (1980–2010 MHz and 2170–2200 MHz) Frequency Band Plan 2022.
- Radiocommunications (Television Outside Broadcasting) (2010–2110 MHz and 2200–2300 MHz) Frequency Band Plan 2022.
You can access full details in the consultation paper above.
