Draft RALI FX01—Frequency Assignment Requirements for Narrowband Fixed and Mobile Services with Wideband Fixed Services in the 403-420 MHz Band

74 kB

Summary

The ACMA is seeking comment on updates to Radiocommunications Assignment and Licensing Instruction (RALI) FX1. Currently it provides advice on coordinating 400 MHz wideband fixed services against narrowband services, but provides no advice on coordinating narrowband services against wideband fixed services.

The update adds advice to cater for that scenario. The update also accounts for modern digital wideband systems—the current FX1 is relevant to analog systems that do not appear to have been assigned for some time. A bandwidth scaling factor is also introduced to account for the interference potential between wideband and narrowband systems.

This work was foreshadowed in the Spectrum planning framework—Frequency coordination requirements review work program released by the ACMA in September 2018.
