*Edit: The timeframe for applications for the first round of the Regional and Small Publishers Innovation Fund has been extended to 10 August 2018.
Applications open today for the first round of grants under the Regional and Small Publishers Innovation Fund.
Administered by the ACMA, the Innovation Fund is a three-year competitive grants program that will issue up to $16 million each year. Grants are capped at a maximum of $1 million per year for any applicant.
‘We hope to receive applications for a mixture of small, medium and large innovative projects from publishers right across Australia,’ said ACMA Chair Nerida O’Loughlin.
The ACMA will assess applications against specified eligibility and assessment criteria and consider any advice provided by an Advisory Committee to be appointed by the Minister for Communications.
The ACMA expects to announce successful applicants in October 2018.
Publishers interested in applying should go to the government’s GrantConnect website (grants.gov.au) where the grant opportunity is listed. This includes all the necessary information to apply online.
Applicants can also subscribe for updates and find other details at acma.gov.au/innovationfund.
Applications for the first round of funding close on 27 July 2018*.
The Innovation Fund is part of the Regional and Small Publishers Jobs and Innovation Package announced by the government in October 2017.
