Google Play changes user interface

Do you use an Android device? If so—and you’re not on an unlimited data plan—it pays to check the size of an app before you download. Large apps may chew up your data allowance quickly.

However, Google Play has recently made changes to its apps user interface, so information about the number of megabytes an app uses isn’t immediately visible. To find out this information, just do the following:

Step 1
Locate the ‘Read more’ link on the app’s Install page:

Step 2
Select ‘Read more’ and then scroll to the bottom of the page, where you’ll find useful information such as the app’s size, number of downloads and version number:

If the app’s size seems large, you might want to wait until you can use Wi-Fi to download the app.
