Calling Number Display ACIF 522:2007

Code de-registration

On 13 October 2016, the ACMA decided to de-register the ACIF C522:2007 Calling Number Display Industry Code. This code has been removed from the Register of industry codes.

Communications Alliance developed the G522:2016 Calling Number Display Industry Guideline to replace the code. In conjunction with the Guideline, Communications Alliance also developed a Consumer Fact Sheet on Calling Number Display which is available for download here.

Information about the de-registered code is provided below.

Calling Number Display Industry Code

The ACMA first registered the Calling Number Display Industry Code in 2001, with subsequent revisions in 2003 and 2007.

The code was developed to ensure suppliers provide privacy protections in the use of calling line identification (CLI) and calling number display (CND) for standard telephone services. The code also required suppliers to inform their customers about the privacy implications of CLI and CND and how customers can utilise CND blocking features so that they can make informed choices about using their telephone services.
