Telemarketing calls in Australia: Consumer experience research
The ACMA conducted quantitative research in August 2016 to investigate the consumer experience of telemarketing calls in Australia. Through a better understanding of this experience, the ACMA can more effectively target and prioritise our regulatory, education, compliance and enforcement activities.
Telemarketing calls in Australia—Consumer experience research shows that the overall incidence of consumers receiving telemarketing calls remains about the same as in 2012, with a similar mix of type of calls.
This research has also been an input into the remaking of the Telecommunications (Telemarketing and Research Calls) Industry Standard 2017.
