The issues

We want to vary the Remote Central and Eastern Australia Radio licence area plan (LAP). This will involve:

  • Increasing the power and antenna height and changing the antenna radiation pattern of the 8SAT FM commercial radio station in Padthaway East to improve signal strength in Bordertown and extends coverage to Willalooka, Wirrega, Wolsely, Frances and Kybybolite areas.
  • Making spectrum available for new 4RBL and 4BRZ FM commercial radio services to serve the Urbenville, Muli Muli and Woodenbong areas.
  • Increasing the power and decreasing the antenna height of the 4RBL and 4BRZ commercial radio services in the Chinchilla area to extend the coverage of the rural service.
  • Changing the nominal location and site coordinates of the Milikapiti community radio service so that the location in the LAP better reflects the actual licensed site.
  • Changing the specifications of the 4ACR Wujal Wujal community radio service to reflect that the licensee has not yet implemented a requested change of frequency and site location, and to allow them to transition to that changed specification.
  • Changing the nominal location of the 2WCR Coonabarabran community radio service to reflect its current location more accurately.

We would like your views on the issues raised in the consultation paper, or any other issues relevant to the Remote Central and Eastern Australia Radio LAP.
