Previous consultation: The issue
Following the minister’s Radiocommunications (Spectrum Re-allocation – 850/900 MHz Band) Declaration 2020, we are preparing to conduct an auction of spectrum licences in the 850/900 MHz band.
We have prepared draft legislative instruments for consultation. Together, the instruments define what is being sold at auction, how the auction will be conducted and the technical requirements for the operation of devices under the 850/900 MHz band spectrum licences.
The accompanying consultation paper identifies key issues for stakeholders to consider. We will use stakeholder feedback to finalise the instruments and prepare for the auction, which is expected to be held in November 2021.
