The allocation of broadcasting services band spectrum is subject to a formal planning process which is currently undertaken exclusively by the ACMA. For further information refer to planning process for broadcast services.

Radiocommunications services, other than broadcasting services, may not operate in the broadcasting services bands unless authorised by an appropriate ‘drop-through’ made under section 34 of the Broadcasting Act. Refer to Radiocommunications services in broadcasting bands for more information.
