Intra-service coordination

  • With exception of the band 7100 to 7200 kHz, frequency assignments within designated broadcasting bands in the range 5.9 MHz to 26.1 MHz are subject to the provisions of Article 12 of the ITU Radio Regulations.

Inter-service coordination

  • Proposed assignments in bands shared, on a co-primary basis, with non-broadcasting services are also subject to coordination by the ACMA.

This broadcasting licensing option accommodates the operation of HF overseas service station(s), in the frequency range 5.9 MHz to 26.1 MHz, for the purpose of providing international broadcasting services.


This licensing option is used to authorise HF overseas service station(s) operated by national broadcasters (that is, the ABC and the SBS) or other broadcasters providing an 'exempt broadcasting' service (as defined under subsection 18A (3) of the Broadcasting Services Act 1992).
