Protect your information

VoIP calls pass across the internet and there is a risk of communications being monitored. The risks are similar to those of emailing.

VoIP calls should be:

  1. encrypted

  2. on Virtual Private Network (VPN) connection.

Otherwise take precautions when entering sensitive information.

Protect your computer

Protect your computer from harmful viruses by:

  1. Anti-virus software

  2. A firewall

  3. Checking email attachments for viruses before opening them.

  4. Not opening suspicious email attachments.

Protect your cash

When using VoIP you need be alert for scams and exercise the same caution you would if using a telephone or emailing.
