Emergency numbers (Visitors to Australia)

What phone number do I dial in the case of an emergency ?

In Australia, dialling Triple Zero (000) is the quickest way to get the right emergency service to help you.

It should be used to contact police, fire or ambulance in life threatening or emergency situations.

A call to 000 will be answered by an operator, who will confirm your location and then connect you to the requested emergency service (police, fire or ambulance).

Calls to 000 are free from all services including mobile phones, landlines and pay phones.
