ACMA releases revised Restricted Access Systems Declaration for comment

The Australian Communications and Media Authority has today released a draft revised Restricted Access Systems Declaration 2007 for public comment.

Under the Broadcasting Services Act 1992 (the BSA), all R18+ content and certain commercial MA15+ content online is prohibited or potential prohibited unless it is behind a valid restricted access system to help prevent under-age viewing.

An initial discussion paper on the review of the 2007 Declaration was released in June 2014. The ACMA received five submissions that have been considered in formulating this revised version of the declaration.

The closing date for submissions on the revised declaration is 5pm, Tuesday 21 October 2014.
