Computer and electronics retailer Penta Group has received a formal warning after an Australian Communications and Media Authority investigation found it was responsible for sending unsolicited marketing emails. Some of the emails also failed to offer the ability to unsubscribe.
In accordance with the ACMA’s graduated approach to compliance, the ACMA contacted Penta Group several times about its e-marketing approach prior to investigation. Penta Group did not, however, address the ACMA’s concerns.

If you receive a marketing email that you think may not comply with the Spam Act, you can report it to the ACMA’s by forwarding the message to firstname.lastname@example.org. You can forward SMS spam to the Spam SMS service on 0429 999 888.
