8. Contemporary issues in Australian communications

This chapter presents short essays on three contemporary communications issues:

• The digital divide-including a summary of a literature review on international and Australian research.
• The changing audience for television broadcasting-drawing on research into media use in Australian families.
• The growth of individual and business mobility through improvements in mobile communications-an examination of the improvements in technology and accessibility of mobile communications.
