RCC overview

The Australian Communication and Media Authority’s (ACMA) Radiocommunications Consultative Committee (RCC) was formed to facilitate consultation between the ACMA and industry on major domestic and international radiocommunications issues.

The ACMA sees the RCC as a means to provide informed consultation and focused advice on strategic matters, among and between different interest groups. This will provide the ACMA with additional constructive and informed input and assistance in performing its functions.

The RCC is formed under Section 58 of the Australian Communications and Media Authority Act 2005.

The core membership of the RCC is:

  • Chairmen of each of the ACMA’s six Australian Radiocommunications Study Groups; and
  • Persons representing the interests of one of eight industry and government stakeholder sectors, with an understanding of contemporary and future operational and strategic issues affecting their representative sectors.
