Section 23 register (Register of approved plans & determinations)

The register

Under section 23 of the Telecommunications (Consumer Protection and Service Standards) Act 1999 (the Act) the ACMA is obliged to maintain a register of the following information.

• Approved policy statements, standard marketing plans and alternative telecommunications service (ATS) marketing plans of primary and competing universal service providers. Telstra is currently the sole primary universal service provider. The ACMA (nor the ACA) has not approved any competing universal service providers to date.

• Determinations covering contestable service obligations, and alternative arrangements for fulfilling the USO. These determinations have been made under section 11C or 14 (as indicated) of the Act by the Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy. No determinations on alternative arrangements for the USO have been made.

The information held in this Register will be updated when the status of any document is varied, and when new information is received.
