Service, accountability & reporting

The ACMA aims to foster an effective regulatory environment that supports a dynamic communications sector. Its regulatory functions are set out in the Australian Communications and Media Authority Act 2005.

To meet government accountability requirements, the ACMA regularly reports on its performance through annual reports, Portfolio Budget Statements and other formal documents.

Evidence-informed regulation and effective consultation

The ACMA’s regulatory processes are informed by high quality evidence from a wide range of sources. These include working to enhance the effectiveness of our stakeholder consultation processes, which are an important source of evidence for our regulatory development activities. Find out more »

ACMA corporate plan 2012–2015

The ACMA corporate plan is prepared annually, although on a rolling three-year basis. It is approved by Authority members for presentation to the Minister pursuant to section 56 of the Australian Communications and Media Authority Act 2005. View the corporate plan »
