Network codes & standards

The Technical Regulation Development Section manages the registration of network industry codes and oversees the development by industry of specifications and guidelines relating to the technical regulation of networks.

Network Codes

Network Codes are part of Industry Codes registered under Part 6 of the Telecommunications Act 1997. The codes below are listed on the Register.

Network Standards

The ACMA may make technical standards about the interconnection of telecommunications network facilities under sections 384-389 of Part 21 of the Telecommunications Act 1997. To date, no technical interconnection standards have been made.

The following documents do not fall under the ACMA legislative arrangements, but form part of the technical regulation framework.
