Previous 1800 MHz consultation

The following table provides a summary of the public consultation undertaken to date on the licensing arrangements in the 1800 MHz band in both regional and remote Australia.

Issues paper 1

Issues paper 1 described the ACMA's proposed changes to existing arrangements in the 1800 MHz band. Stakeholders were invited to consider the issues it raised and provide feedback to the ACMA.
The ACMA received 14 submissions in response to issues paper 1.
November 2013 Spectrum licences in the 1800 MHz band:
Issues paper 2
Issues paper 2 considered whether the existing apparatus licensing arrangements would continue to be an efficient arrangement in the band into the future or whether spectrum licensing arrangements should be considered in regional areas in particular.
The ACMA sought comment from interested stakeholders on options for spectrum licences in the 1800 MHz band.
The ACMA received eight submissions in response to issues paper 2.
December 2013 Responses to 1800 MHz: A shared strategy—Issues paper 1 and 2 The ACMA prepared a response to issues papers 1 and 2. The purpose of the response was to summarise the key points raised in the submissions to the issues papers and outline next steps.
