History

The VHF Mid Band Frequency Band Plan (70 - 87.5 MHz) was made on 14 November 1991. It was made to support the restructuring of the VHF Mid Band in anticipation of growth in the demand for land mobile services and advances in land mobile technology.

The Plan was varied in June 1996, June 1998 and June 1999. The 1996 and 1998 variations made adjustments to the conversion dates framework in the Plan. The 1999 variation provided continuing support for the narrowband area service.
