Spectrum options for short range devices

There are many different short range devices that use radiofrequency spectrum in Australia, such as infra-red remote controls, keyless car entry systems, radio LANs and cordless telephones. The operation of these devices are covered by class licences issued by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (the ACMA).

The following table contains general information on some common applications, the bands they use, and their relevant class licences. The table is updated as the ACMA is alerted to new applications.
