Local content licence conditions & maps

On 1 October 2014, the Broadcasting Services (Additional Television Licence Condition) Notice 2014 revoked and replaced the former Broadcasting Services (Additional Television Licence Condition) Notice 8 November 2007. The new licence condition maintains the existing local content requirements to regional aggregated commercial television broadcasters, with the following changes:

  • the removal of the obligation on a licensee to report on its compliance with the licence condition to the ACMA
  • the reduction of the period for which audio-visual records must be retained from six weeks to 30 days after the end of the timing period and
  • the removal of the requirement to keep written records in favour of audio-visual records.
