Melbourne commercial radio service 3MP to undergo changes

The Australian Communications and Media Authority is seeking public comment on a proposal to amend the operating conditions of Melbourne commercial radio broadcasting service 3MP.

3MP is also known by its on-air ID's 3MTR and MTR1377.

The ACMA is proposing to increase 3MP's transmitter power and change the directionality of its radiation pattern to improve reception in northern and western Melbourne.

The proposed changes are contained in the Draft Variation to Licence Area Plan - Melbourne Radio - No. 1 of 2011 and are discussed in an accompanying explanatory paper.
